Bridging generations with sense of identity
Most families find that important knowledge and history gets lots from generation to generation for several reasons; the most common being challenges in coordinating the time to tell, - and the time to listen.

More often than not, the younger generations are in the midst of their most hectic fases with education, or professional and family/social life. It is only later in life that one perhaps finds interest in relevant information related to ones own identity and family history.

By the time one becomes consciously aware and curious, and one begins to raise questions, it is unfortunately already too late. Having had this exact experience in my own family, I wish to help other families bridge that gap.

Having worked with a large number of individuals, I have discovered that most storytellers are very comfortable speaking with a neutral party. Somehow it seems to help detach them from fear of judgement and it is easier to talk without letting emotions take control.

I do ask questions that family members often wouldn’t think of asking, which in turn means that they can listen in from a different perspective, giving the story an additional dimension.

Preserving voices and anecdotes – anniversaries
On the occasion of an anniversary celebration, guests spend much thought and time writing and giving speeches. These express special appreciation and characteristics about the jubilee, and reveal the personal relationship between both parties.

To extend the possibility of keeping such an imprint of each and every guest present, I offer to make an audio ‘collage’ with integrated music in the spirit of the jubilee, for him/her to keep, and make the party even more memorable by listening to short (one-two minutes) inserts contributed by each and every one.

Making the audio biography

EASE: Bring your memories to a calm, friendly atmosphere all set for telling your story. Our responsibility is planning a good structure and timeline, recording, editing for optimal fluency, and thematically create chapters giving your story vivid character. We make sure it will be delivered with easy access to each topic, and pure listening pleasure. Music of your choice will be added if you wish.

LANGUAGE & LOCATION: We mostly work in Norwegian and English, however we have language solutions when other languages are needed. Locations are agreed upon individually when our studio in Oslo is out of reach for our clients.

QUALITY TIME amongst relatives is often out of synch, and we help give all parties the time for telling, and the time for listening.

GENEROSITY is key; we make sure you get the time you need to tell your full story, with a prep-meeting beforehand. We make note of all relevant details, and how you wish to convey it in amicable terms.

BIOGRAPHY MATERIAL is delivered in USB format on specially designed My-Story sticks, delicately gift wrapped and labeled individually, with a clean look, - a chapter overview is attached with each copy. As an alternative, a digital transfer can be processed.

VISUAL BONUS? Some prefer a pure listening experience due to excessive exposure to screens on a daily basis. The advantage is that it makes it possible to plug into ears while traveling, walking or lying down. It allows for alertness and better attention to what is being said. Visuals can actually be distractive.​ However, it is in many cases a wish, and good reason to include still photos (old ones can be reproduced). We can also provide video recording, which will be at an extra cost estimated by the associated videographer. 

100% CONFIDENTIAL Copyright belongs to the client, and all sound and visual materials are deleted from our systems shortly after delivery.

PRICE: The first (1-2 hour) meeting is free, and without commitment. The price of a production, will depend on the desired elements to be included. You are invited to an initial introduction. Both parties must feel trust and comfort to continue. I will then present a list of hourly set fees for each possible element to be included. You can select what’s relevant to you personally. This way we tailor-make the AUDIOBIOGRAPHY and price according agreed choices made. There will be no risk or surprising extras as the details will be stated clearly in a contract before startup.
